Concrete is one of the most durable building materials available and makes it the perfect choice for interior floors, patios, decks, walkways and driveways.
Stamped Concrete
Stamped Concrete adds a pattern or texture to a freshly placed concrete slab or overlay on the interior or exterior of your home or building. Stamping allows the addition of color, patterns, borders, inlays and unique custom designing while still maintaining the integrity of the concrete.
These patterns can mimick tile, stone, rock, wood, aged cobblestones, brickwork, flagstones, slate tile, marble, granite, or just about any natural surface. The only limitation is the designers imagination. Choosing stamped concrete over other paving materials such as natural stone is economical and efficient and the quality can be as breathtaking if done by a qualified professional. It is an affordable choice for an upscale finish.
Standard procedures for placing, finishing, and curing concrete flatwork apply with a few added steps. Using a stamping tool or pattern, fresh concrete (with or without color) is imprinted after the initial float pass and application of a release agent. The stamping procedure replaces steel troweling and the effect is a unique surface in pattern and texture.
Colored Concrete
Colored Concrete uses a high quality computerized process that mixes a liquid color throughout the concrete. This is a 1 step process done when the concrete load is in the concrete mixer truck. Colored concrete is an alternative to stain or the average gray concrete and is normally used in conjunction with stamped concrete. Colored concrete creates beautiful floors, walkways and driveways that enhance the beauty of your home. It is durable, stands up over time and is asthetically pleasing to the eye.
Acid Stain Concrete
Acid Stain Concrete gives a wonderful pantina to concrete giving it a beautiful natural color and look. Acid stain creates a translucent color effect and is not designed to and will not hide surface discoloration, blemishes, impressions, cracks and markings in the concrete. It is used both on the interior and exterior and can be applied to old or new concrete; to colored or gray surfaces; and may be used in conjunction with other decorative techniques and joint patterns.
Acid stains are chemically reactive stains that are water-based, acidic solutions which contain metallic salts. These metallic salts react chemically with calcium hydroxide compounds in hardened concrete. The irregularity in finishing patterns and the inherent variation of the concrete materials cause the chemicals to react in a very irregular pattern giving it a decorative finish.
The acid stain process is applied after the concrete is poured and cured. The acid reacts with the calcium in the concrete to create an interesting color that may be variegated, mottled, streaked, or uneven in the saturation of color. The finish is a very important step and can be a mat or glaze depending on the effect you are desiring. On old concrete an overlay will be done before the stain process. Each application is completely unique and individual in appearance giving you a one of a kind floor.
